Persona 5: How to access the new game plus content

Persona 5 has a playtime of almost one hundred hours. But what if we told you there’s so much more to do once you finish?

So, you’ve spent countless hours playing and loving Persona 5; but it’s over now. What should you do? Well, if you want to keep playing and unlock some new and cool features, you can access the Persona 5 New Game plus content.

Starting the New Game Plus in Persona 5

It goes without saying, but the first thing you need to do to access the new content is to finish the game. Now, as soon as you finish, you’ll see the credits and the ending sequence.

Once that’s done, the game will ask you if you want to save the Clear Data. If you want to access the new content, press “Yes” and save the data, preferably on an empty slot. If you overwrite an already saved slot, you won’t be able to go back to the gameplay you’ve saved.

Now that you have the Clear Data saved, you’ll return to the main menu. From there, you’ll be able to select the Load Game and access your Clear Data.

Finally, the game will ask you to carry your progress into the new game. By selecting “Yes” one more time, you will be able to play the Persona 5 New Game Plus content.

What Carries Over?

First things first, don’t worry; you’ll get your Social Stats in the Plus content. You will have:

  • Knowledge
  • Proficiency
  • Charm
  • Guts
  • Kindness

Also, if you’ve already maxed out these stats in your first playthrough, you don’t have to worry about rebuilding them again. Instead, you can focus on building your social links and participating in other activities.

What’s more, you’ll have access to your Persona Compendium. In essence, if you have enough money, you can summon all of the Personas you’ve collected from the Velvet Room.

Did you save a lot of money and gather various equipment and Skill Cards the first time you played Persona 5? If so, you will be able to use all of that in the New Game Plus.

You can also count on any special items that social link characters have given you at the end of the game. And, finally, you won’t have to worry about your playtime either. If you played 90 hours the first time, and 10 hours in the New Game Plus, the playtime will read 100 hours.
